- They can live from 20 to 40 years.
- They have the largest brain to body mass ratio and their brains are even more convoluted with 'folds' than human brains are; perhaps this explains why they are one of the most intelligent animals on Earth.
- They like playing with other dolphins, masses of seaweed, humans, and even turtles!
- They can swim as fast as 6-8 km/h, but if they start jumping out of the water while doing so, they are able to exceed that speed. This is because the air has lower resistance than the water and by frequently jumping above the surface of the sea they save a great deal of energy.
- They can jump up to 8 metres high!
